Prophecies Fulfilled in the Life of Jesus

"We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote--Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph" (John 1:45, NKJV).

"O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not the Christ have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?" (Luke 24:25, 26, NKJV).

"There would be no honest infidel in the world were the Messianic prophecies studied, nor any doubting disciple if this body of prediction were understood." Author unknown.

Prophecy
Fulfillment
Exodus 12:21, 28: The ordinance of the Passover Lamb. The Passover Lamb represented Jesus, the Lamb of God. John 1:29: "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world."
Exodus 12:46: Nor shall you break one of its bones.
Psalms 34:20: He guards all his bones, not one of them is broken.

Deut. 18:17-19: And the Lord said to me:--I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him. John 14:10-11: Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me, or else believe me for the sake of the works themselves.

Matt. 27:39-43:

Mark 15:29-31:

Luke 23:35:

Ps. 22:16-18: They pierced My hands and My feet, I can count all my bones. They look and stare at Me. They divide My garments among them, and for My clothing they cast lots.

Isa. 53:7: He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth. Mark 15:4, 5:
Isa. 53:8: For He was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgressions of My people He was stricken. Matt. 27:50:

Christ's Glory:

Isa. 7:14: Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. Matt. 1:18-23:
Micah 5:2: But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting. Matt. 2:1-6:
Gen. 49:10: The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet until Shiloh comes; and to Him shall be the obedience of the people. Matt. 21:1-9: Check
Zechariah 9:9: Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, lowly and riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey. Matt:21:1-9: Check
Ps. 45:6, 7: Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You love righteousness and hate wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions. Heb. 1:8, 9:
Isa. 9:6, 7: For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. Luke 1:30-33: (final fulfillment following the second coming.)
Isa. 42:6-9: I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles, to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the prison, those who sit in darkness from the prison house. I am the Lord, that is My name, and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images. Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them. God gave Christ as a covenant to us for all the reasons given.
Isa. 11:1, 2: Matt. 1:5, 6:
Isa 42:1-4: Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.--- Matt 12:16-21:
Isa 49:7: Matt. 27:1, 2, 20, 22:
Isa 49:8: I will preserve You and give You as a covenant to the people, to restore the earth - Rev. 21:1-7:

Christ's Mission:

Isa. 61:1, 2: The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor, He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord. Luke 4:16-21:
Isa 49:5, 6: And now the Lord says, Who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, to bring Jacob back to Him, so that Israel is gathered to Him -- Indeed He says, It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth. It is Jesus who brings God's salvation to the ends of the earth.
Isa. 54:13: All your children shall be taught by the Lord. John 6:45: Jesus said, "it is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught by God.' Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me."

Other Prophecies Concerning Christ:

Deut. 18:15-19: "The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren, Him you shall hear, --- I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him." John 14:10 (NEB): "I am not myself the source of the words I speak to You: it is the Father who dwells in me doing His own work."
Ps. 22:1: "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"

Matt. 27:46:

Mark 15:34:

Ps. 16:10: "For You will not leave my soul in Shoel, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption." Mark 16:6, 7: Jesus did not remain to decay in the grave.
Ps. 31:5: Into your hand I commit my spirit. Luke 23:46:

Ps. 34:20: He guards all his bones; not one of them is broken.

Exodus 12:46: "--nor shall you break one of its bones."

John 19:32, 33, 36:
Jer. 23:5: " 'The days are coming' declares the Lord, 'when I will raise up to David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land' " A reference that applies to Jesus as the true Messiah whose future reign will be characterized by righteousness. Rev. 21:3-7.
Hosea 11:1: Out of Egypt I called my Son. Matt. 2:13-15:

Promise: "Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon." Isa. 55:6, 7.

It is God's desire that we accept Him for who He is! When we come to know Him for who He really is, a whole new life opens up for us. John, the disciple, testified to the following, "-- now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him." 1 John 5:14, 15.
