The
Only Way To The Father's House
"I
am the way; I am the truth and I am life; no one comes to
the Father except by me." (1)
The disciples
were still perplexed. Jesus said, "There are many dwelling
places in my Father's house; -- I am going there on purpose
to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place
for you, I shall come again and receive you to myself, so
that where I am you may be also; and my way there is known
to you.' Thomas said, 'Lord, we do not know where you are
going, so how can we know the way?' Jesus replied, 'I am the
way; I am the truth and I am life; no one comes to the Father
except by me.' " (2)
There
are not many ways to heaven. Each one may not choose his own
way. Jesus said, "I am the way,-- no one comes to the
Father except by me." Since the Garden of Eden when the
good news was declared that the seed of the woman (Jesus)
would bruise the serpent's head (Satan), Christ has been lifted
up as the way, the truth, and the life. "He was the way
when Adam lived, when Abel presented to God the blood of the
slain lamb, representing the blood of the Redeemer. Christ
was the way by which patriarchs and prophets were saved. He
is the way by which alone we can have access to God."
(3)
Jesus
is the only way to the Father's house, and He is preparing
a place for you and me. There is no other way, no other truth,
no other life. All that we have is from Him. He is our inspiration,
He is our best friend, and He shares with us His very life.
How can we neglect One who is so important to us? Whether
we are saints or sinners, all that we have is from Him. Jesus
is vital to us. As His disciples we need to spend time with
Him, our best friend, every day.
