Your
Joy May Be Full
"These
things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you,
and that your joy may be full." (1)
"These
things I speak--, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves."
(2)
"Ever
before Him, Christ saw the result of His mission. His earthly
life, so full of toil and self-sacrifice, was cheered by the
thought that He would not have all this travail for naught.
By giving His life for the life of men, He would restore in
humanity the image of God. He would lift us up from the dust,
reshape the character after the pattern of His own character,
and make it beautiful with His own glory." (3)
Paul
admonished, "Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud
of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which
so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race
that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and
finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before
Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down
at the right hand of the throne of God." (4)
"Now
may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace.. by the
power of the Holy Spirit." (5) "The fruit of the
Spirit is love, joy, peace..." (6)
"You
will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness
of joy, at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore"
(7).
"When
His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding
joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed
are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you."
