GOD'S
SPOKESMAN
"God...
has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has
appointed heir of all things" (Hebrews 1:1, 2, NKJV).
Jesus
is God's final and most authentic spokesman in history. By
His sinless life, His vicarious death, and His resurrection,
He became the supreme spokesman for God in all things.
Though
men and women have spoken for God in the past, never has anyone
equaled Jesus. The awesome giving of the law on Sinai, the
revelation of God's will and purpose through the prophets,
and the sacrificial system were all bonafide communications
of God to the human race. In all of these, God spoke through
His chosen instruments. However, Christ is the transcendent
revelation of God to humanity. The incarnation and the conquest
gained at Calvary have become the supreme revelation of God.
Jesus
came as God's official, final, and unique spokesman to our
lost world. As such, He said, "I do nothing of Myself;
but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things" (John
8:28, NKJV). He further declares, "I speak to the world
those things which I heard from Him" (verse 26, NKJV).
Indeed, never a man spoke like this man because He is God's
last word in everything that relates to the plan of salvation.
In these last days, Jesus still speaks to us through His word
and the indwelling Holy Spirit. He speaks to us as the Redeemer
to His redeemed, as the Bridegroom to His bride, as the beloved
Son to His blood-bought brothers, and as the King to His people.
"God hath manifested His truth after speaking it from
Sinai. He hath again spoken by His Son, and by a most wonderful
experiment--by a living representation in Jesus Christ."--Manuscript
Releases, vol. 18, p. 127.
My
Prayer Today: Lord, may I always recognize the voice
of Your unique spokesman. May I listen and obey. Amen.
