KING
OF SAINTS
"Great
and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and
true are Your ways, O King of the Saints!" (Revelation
15:3, NKJV).
In a
moving vision, John the Revelator sees all heaven explode
with jubilation and majestic music. The celestial choir is
heard singing the anthem of deliverance entitled: "The
Song of Moses and the Song of the Lamb." The grand focus
of this triumphant song is the "King of the Saints."
What a fitting title for our wonderful Redeemer!
In this
anthem of praise, Christ is extolled for His "great and
marvelous" works (Revelation 15:3, NKJV). The celestial
choir through this ascription of praise ascribes to Christ
all the attributes of deity. The singing saints are the redeemed
of all ages who have finally come to the grand climax of their
pilgrimage--to their heavenly home. No wonder their song of
deliverance is punctuated with extravagant expressions of
praise and adoration to Jesus the "King of the Saints."
There
is disagreement among biblical authorities as to whether the
reading in Revelation 15:3 should be "King of the Saints,"
"King of the Nations," or "King of Ages."
One thing is certain for the redeemed: Jesus Christ is unquestionably
the King of all nations, all ages, and certainly of all the
saints. With the victory won and the controversy ended, all
nations will come and worship Him as King of the universe.
God's people can hardly wait for that moment of high drama
described in these words: "And now Satan bows down, and
confesses the justice of his sentence... With all the facts
of the great controversy in view, the whole universe, both
loyal and rebellious, with one accord declare, 'Just and true
are thy ways, thou King of Saints.' "--The Faith I
Live By, p. 356. What a day that will be!
My
Prayer Today: Lord, Your people await the coming
victory celebration. May it be soon! Amen.
