I
Am the Lord, the God of All Flesh!
"Then
the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying, 'Behold, I
am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard
for Me?' " (1)
What
is the foundation for this statement, "I am.. the God
of all flesh?" "In the beginning God created the
heavens and the earth
God said, 'Let Us make man in
Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion
over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over
the cattle, over all the earth
' So God created man in
His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and
female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said
to them, 'Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue
it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds
of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the
earth'
Then God saw everything that He had made, and
indeed it was very good." (2)
"Is
there anything to hard for Me?" Throughout scripture
we read of the tension between good and evil, the values of
God vs. the lack of values. Through it all, God is pointing
us to a better life here and now, and for eternity. In every
imaginable way, God would strengthen our faith and resolve
to cooperate with Him to share the good news of what He is
doing, and will do, to save us from disease, terror, destruction,
and from anything that endangers those who love Him and look
forward to His intervention into the affairs of the human
race at the time of His second coming.
"For
the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with
the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And
the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive
and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds
to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with
the Lord." (3)
"Now
I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and
the first earth had passed away
Then I John, saw the
holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a
loud voice from heaven saying, 'Behold, the tabernacle of
God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall
be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their
God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there
shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall
be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. Then
He who sat on the throne said, 'Behold, I make all things
new.' " (4)
God's
promise to all who respect and obey Him: "I am with you
to save you and deliver you," says the Lord. "I
will deliver you from the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem
you from the grip of the terrible." (5)
Where
in all literature do we find an explanation of where we came
from, why we are here, and where we are going, other than
in the Bible? The Intelligence that planned it all has communicated
the answers to these questions throughout the scriptures.
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete,
thoroughly equipped for every good work." (6) "There
is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives him
understanding." (7)
"Is
there anything too hard for Me?" The Creator of our universe
would strengthen our faith and confidence that He is able
to perform all that He has promised. "Trust in the Lord
with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your
paths." (8) (To be continued)
