The Truth Shall Make You Free!

Jesus said to those who believed in Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" John 8:31, 32.

What is this truth that "shall make you free?"

When Jesus was delivered to Pilate, a multitude of people accused Jesus of blasphemy for " 'saying that He Himself is Christ, a King.' Then Pilate asked Him saying, 'Are You the King of the Jews?' Jesus answered him and said, 'It is as you say' " Luke 23:2, 3.

John records that Jesus answered Pilate by saying, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here." Pilate asked again, "Are You a king then?

"Jesus answered, 'You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.'

"Pilate said to Him, 'What is truth?' And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, 'I find no fault in Him at all." John 18:36-38.

What is the truth about God and Jesus Christ? The Bible is the only credible record we have that gives us an accurate description of where we came from, why we are here and where we are going - from the Garden of Eden to the second coming of Christ. Apart from the Holy Scriptures there is confusion, kayos, convoluted theories, deception and no hope beyond the grave. From the Holy Scriptures God reveals not only the past but also the future.

Jesus was sent to reveal truth to the human race. "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth… And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him" John 1:14, 16-18.

The truth is that God the Father and Jesus Christ love us with an everlasting love! Jeremiah 31:3.

Jesus is our Teacher! "You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him" John 3:2.

Jesus came to reveal the Father and reconcile us to Him! "God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself" 2 Corinthians 5:19.

Jesus is the only way to the Father and life eternal life! "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me… This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent" John 14:6; 17:3.

We are sanctified and saved by the truth that comes from God! "Sanctify them by Your truth, Your word is truth" John 17:17.

God shares a very special gift with those who put their faith and trust in Him and obey Him! "When He, the Spirit of truth has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you" John 16:13-15.
