Happy
New Year!
At the
beginning of a New Year it's natural to be thinking ahead
and make New Year's Resolutions to improve our lives and circumstances.
Many are concerned about unsettling trends like rising energy
costs, declining home values and volatile times; but why dwell
on forces that are beyond our control? We get what we focus
on so let's focus on and give consideration to the gifts and
values that our Creator shares with us every day and make
resolutions that benefit us physically, socially, financially
and spiritually.
The Lord
loves us with a passionate love. "I am the good Shepherd.
The good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep
I know
My sheep, and am known by My own
I lay down My life
for the sheep. I have come that you may have life and that
you may have it more abundantly" John 10:11, 14, 15,
10.
Jesus
shares this more abundant life with those who want to know
Him and who will listen to Him. Jesus said, "If you love
Me, keep My commandments" John 14:15. And His promise
is that He will send a Helper, the Holy Spirit to be with
us FOREVER
God does not ask anything of us that He has
not already done for us. He has already taken care of the
sin problem in our lives in that "He (God) made Him (Jesus)
who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the
righteousness of God in Him" 2 Cor. 5:21.
So, if
we love and trust Him, He will direct our paths and when we
take His advice, He blesses us with more abundant living.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on
your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and
He will direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your
flesh and strength to your bones." Prov. 3:5-8.
Here
are just a few ideas of the gifts and values that God shares
with us to enhance our lives, God's
Gifts for Health and More Abundant Living!
John
said it very well when he wrote, "Beloved, I pray that
you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your
soul prospers" 1 John 1:2.
During
this New Year, may you receive the fullness of God's love
and His blessings in your life!
