WALK IN THE LIGHT

"If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin" (1 John 1:7, NKJV).

"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life-- the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us-- that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

"This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin" (1 John 1:1-7).

John here is writing from his, and the disciples, personal experience with Jesus. "we have heard, - we have seen--, our hands have handled-- that which we have seen and heard we declare to you" and the message is "if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, (and our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.) and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin."

The love of God and the light of God are in Jesus. "God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing [charging] their trespasses to them,--- For He (God) made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Corinthians 5:19, 21).

When we turn the mind and the heart to dwell on those things that are truthful, noble, honest, just, pure, lovely and good (see Philippians 4:8), "the God of peace will be with you" (vs. 9). "In Him is no darkness at all" (1 John 1:5).

When we walk with Jesus, we are in the presence of "the light of the world" (John 9:5).
