BLESS
THE LORD, O MY SOUL
"Bless
the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits"
(Psalm 103:2, NKJV).
I returned
to Paradise to attend the funeral of the wife of a very dear
friend. Traveling up the Sacramento valley on Highway 99 and
70, I became overwhelmed by the memories and the blessings
the Lord has shared with me since He first led me and my family
to Paradise many years ago to take up the duties of managing
a medical institution. What a blessing the Lord has been to
my family and me over those years.
He has
wonderfully fulfilled the needs of our family through good
times and bad. I praise Him for His love, His guidance, His
patience, and His continual Presence even through my rebellion
and prodigal ways. His grace and His ways have captured my
heart. He has been and remains my strength and my confidence,
the almighty, and yet tender and loving Father who is so sensitive
to our needs. He tenderly loves and leads us through good
times and bad, through faithfulness and rebellion and through
the changes of life. We may always safely trust Him and know
that He is, that He is God, that He is the Spirit that leads
us in paths of doing what is right, if we are willing, and
teaches us what is true. He shares with us the oracles of
the fathers and His bright vision for our future.
He is
the Spirit that is present with us and shares with us all
the most intimate experiences of life. He loves us with an
everlasting love and He will share that love with us throughout
eternity. He has shared a wonderful life with me, and I hope
with you also. With Him, life will continue to get better
through all eternity.
"Bless
the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who
forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with
lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth
with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's..."
(Psalm 103:2-5).
May God
wonderfully bless you this day.
