REJOICE IN THE LORD!

"I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation" (Habakkuk 3:18, NKJV).

"Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls-- Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

"The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer's feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills" (Habakkuk 3:17-19).

Fearful are the events preceding Habakkuk's declaration of joy. His praise and hope of salvation in God overcome the dark side of his experience. Everyone who experiences the love and care of God may testify of the preciousness of His grace, truth and abiding presence. Those who receive the light of truth will have lesson upon lesson to educate them of the dependability of the promises of God. They will often express their gratitude and praise to others of prayers answered and blessings received.

The Majesty of heaven identifies His interests with those who believe, however humble their circumstances. Whenever they are privileged to share their experience with others, it's appropriate to tell of the blessings received that are the result of casting their burdens at the feet of Jesus.

Do not gratify the enemy by dwelling on the dark side of your experience. Share your cares and concerns with God in a private place, and trust Him more fully to respond to your need and to aid you in resisting temptation. When we think and meditate more on Christ's victory over the trials and tribulations of life and less on ourselves, and request His aid in overcoming the tribulations we encounter, we will have much more of His confidence, peace and presence. If we abide in Him, we will be filled with His peace, faith and courage. We will have more stories to share of His answers to our prayers. The bright and cheerful side of life will be represented by all who are daily consecrated to God.

Do not be dishonored by the mournful recounting of trials that appear grievous. All trials that are received as educators will produce more understanding and joy. The spiritual life will be uplifting, elevating, ennobling and fragrant with good words and works.

"I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation!"
