A
TEACHER COME FROM GOD
"There
was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the
Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, 'Rabbi,
we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can
do these signs that You do unless God is with him' "
(John 3:1, 2, NKJV).
Nicodemus
believed Jesus to be a teacher come from God, for he said,
"no one can do these signs that You do unless God is
with him." Isaiah under inspiration wrote, "All
your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall
be the peace of your children" (Isaiah 54:13). Jesus
referred to Isaiah's statement and said, "It is written
in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught by God.' Therefore
everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to
Me" ( John 6:45). Jesus truly was a Teacher come from
God.
The messages
that come to us from God are the only messages that will lead
us to God. The only way to understand Him, is to listen to
what He has to say to us. We must be willing to keep the words
that He says in order to fully receive the Spirit that He
sends to us. This will purify the heart, renew the mind, and
give us a new capacity for knowing and loving God. It will
also encourage us to give willing obedience to all His requirements.
This is the way that God teaches us and the results are the
fruit of the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives (see
Galatians 5:22-25).
All who
will have the opportunity to learn from the Master Teacher.
Christ has even commissioned His "Helper" to teach
us, "These things I have spoken
to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy
Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach
you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that
I said to you" (John 14:25, 26).
Whenever
a soul reaches out after God, the working of the Spirit is
manifest, and God will reveal Himself to that soul. For such
seekers He waits to receive, and to make them His sons and
daughters. As sons and daughters of God, the prophecy is fulfilled,
"All your children shall be taught by the Lord."
What
a privilege it is to be son or daughter of God (see John 1:12,
and 1 John 3:1). And what a privilege it is to learn from
Him.
