YOU
KNOW THE WAY
"And
where I go you know, and the way you know" (John 14:4,
NKJV).
"Thomas
said to Him, 'Lord, we do not know where You are going, and
how can we know the way?' Jesus said to him, 'I
am the way, the truth, and the life. No one come to the Father
except through Me' " (John 14:5, 6).
The way
to the Father's home is through Jesus. There is no other way.
Jesus is universal, He is the man for all nations. To Abraham
it was revealed, "In your seed all the nations of the
earth shall be blessed" (Genesis 22:18). To Jacob He
was Shiloh, "and to Him shall be the obedience of the
people" (Genesis 49:10).
Jesus
had begun to break down the partition wall between Jews and
Gentiles. He preached salvation to the world when He mingled
freely with the Samaritans, ignoring the Pharisaic customs
of His nation. In spite of the prejudices of the Jews, He
accepted the hospitality of despised people. He slept under
their roofs, ate with them at their tables accepting the food
prepared and served by their hands. He taught in their streets,
and treated them with the utmost kindness and courtesy. Greeks
from the West and wise men from the East were drawn to Him.
The Father
sent Him to reconcile the world to Himself, "Now all
things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through
Jesus Christ" (2 Corinthians 5:18). "Nor is there
salvation in any other, for there is no other name [or resource]
under heaven given among men by which we must be saved"
(Acts 4:12). He is the "Seed" of the woman that
would "bruise" the serpent's (Satan's) head (Genesis
3:15). "He is coming with clouds, and every eye will
see Him, even they who pierced Him... I
am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End... who
is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty"
(Revelation 1:7, 8).
Jesus
is real! The Bible from beginning to end tells of God's communication
with His earthbound and deceived children. However, we are
not abandoned. God has provided a way of escape to all who
put their faith and trust in Him through His Son,
"that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life" (John 3:16). For "the
way, the truth, and the life" is in His Son (John
14:5). Our way to the Father's house is through His beloved
Son.
