WHEN MY HEART IS OVERWHELMED

"Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings" (Psalm 61:1-4, NKJV).

Trusting in the shelter of the Lord! "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand" (Isaiah 41:10).

"Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy, to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name. Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, just as we hope in You" (Psalm 33:18-22).

"Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O Lord, and teach out of Your law, that You may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit is dug for the wicked. For the Lord will not cast off His people, nor will He forsake His inheritance. But judgment will return to righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it" (Psalm 94:12-15).

"I love the Lord, because He has heard My voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore, I will call upon Him as long as I live" (Psalm 116:1, 2).

David loved the Lord. He was often in adversity and overwhelmed with threats of danger and trouble, yet His trust was in the Lord who led him, protected him and blessed him.

Have a wonderful day in the shelter of your Protector.
